After the success of last year’s 5 Star Burger event and with the kind permission of Bill Knott who invented the 5 Star concept and who endlessly supports our epic charity Action Against Hunger Tom Allerton and I have invited some more of London’s top foodies to join forces and create the ultimate 5 Star Burger at Climpson’s Arch in Hackney for another special fundraising event on Wednesday 16th September.
My business pal Ben Pryor will be concocting cocktails from our new cocktail menu at Poco in Broadway Market and I’ll be making an awesome sauce called salsa quemada to smother over the buns and patty.
The rest of the 5 Star Burger is a show stopping collaboration from Zan Kaufman at Bleecker St. Burger, Mark Dobbie the head chef at Som Saa, Jackson Boxer from Brunswick House and the magnificent Elly Pear who’s soon to be launching her first recipe book! TOMS shoes are kindly sponsoring the event, helping us and you raise LOTS of money for Action Against Hunger.
DJ BBQ will be rocking the decks and calling out our ridiculously good raffle prizes!
The Five Star Burger
How about a 50 Day Aged Native Breed Patty from Bleecker St. Burger topped with a trotter Cotechino made by Jackson Boxer, comte cheese, Impatient Rainbow Pickles from Elly Pear inside a semi-seeded demi brioche bun smothered in my Salsa Quemada and Aioli sat beside Zan’s awesome chips and Som Saa’s special fire-y Nam Jim Nam Som chilli sauce. Holy Burger-Heaven!
If that wasn’t enough you can wash it down with Poco Broadway’s Rosemary and Thyme Gin Fizz. Veggies aren’t forgotten but blessed with an equally monstrous Bleecker Deep-fried Tofu patty. The whole shabang
